The widespread circulation of child pornography made three largest Internet service provider company in Australia voluntarily to block sites that are 'problematic'. The company is Telstra, Optus and Primus. All three have agreed to close access to the site that had been prepared by the Australian Communications and Media Authority, as the site mengadung pornographic content.
But unfortunately, the government of the country was forced to postpone Kangaroo their good intentions. Communications Minister Senator Stephen Conroy said it would delay the program content filtering porn on the internet for over a year.
What reason? Radio Australia News, Saturday (7/10/2010), Senator Conroy explained the delay was intended that there are other independent party to test any material classified as pornographic content.
"I am confident that once we go through this process. All Australians who are interested will have the opportunity to participate," said Conroy. "I am confident that people will see this is not any form of censorship," he said.
Conroy also explained that there will be transparency from the list of sites that are considered 'problematic'. Not only that, the plan also have a special independent team will review the list of those sites each year. Try to compare it with our government.
